What is it that fuels each and every one of us in this world? For me, it is being a physician and a mother,

the two greatest honors of my life.

My name is Laura McGevna and I am a board certified dermatologist, owner of SWAE Skin.

 

SWAE is a nod to our precious surface- SNOW, WATER, AIR, and EARTH.

Like our skin, these nourish and protect us. 

 

I am mother to four kindhearted and adventurous boys.  After attending Yale University and moving on to medical school, I fell in love with dermatology. I became a teacher of dermatology, and went on to establish my own practice. I have always been a writer, and now my focus is skin.  Over time I have learned how much needs to be done at home for prevention instead of treatment. I have found such a sense of fulfillment in my own life and I want to share it with you. I enjoy writing about my passions- skin health, mothering, parenting, making our own destiny.  I enjoy sharing it with the world.
